Aims and Objectives: 
To evaluate and monitor the progress of the organization’s programmes and research about different issues affecting young people.

Research is covered in the following aspects:

  • Research Projects
  • Lobbying and Advocacy

YOUTH NEEDS ANALYSIS

To determine programme relevance, the research division has conducted youth needs analysis research study in 2004-2005 in partnership with the Centre for Civil Society. The Report was published by the University of Kwazulu Natal which can be downloaded on the following link http://www.ukzn.ac.za/ccs/default.asp?4,11,17,83 . MONITORING AND EVALUATION

This is critical to all programmes and to the effective running of CYD.  It is used to identify what is working and what is not working, what needs to be changed and whether our programmes are achieving the desired goal.  The following programmes are evaluated:

  • Entrepreneurship Workshops
  • Job Preparation
  • Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH)
  • Life Skills
  • Computer Skills Training
  • Career and Employment Workshops

CASE MANAGEMENT/TRACKING

This serves to measure the impact of services provided by CYD to young people.  This is also for the organization to improve on their services they provide and create opportunities for young people to be empowered.

RESEARCH PROJECTS

The research division conducts research projects on issues affecting young people such as Alcohol and Drug abuse which has currently been conducted in Mogale City.
